General Electric Americas Portfolio Manager – Product Strategy in Schenectady, New York
Role Summary:Product Strategy has a central role in GE ONW in developing the early stage global product strategy in the context of local markets. The team combines depth of understanding of products with creative customer, market, and competitor knowledge of the Strategic Marketing function to best position GE’s current and future products. The position reports to the Executive Product Manager - Product Strategy and dotted line reports to the appropriate leader within the ONW Americas region.
Essential Responsibilities:As Americas Portfolio Manager – Product Strategy, you will lead a team of product analytics and product marketing leaders.
As the Americas Portfolio Manager – Product Strategy, you will:
Develop and own the long-term product roadmaps and market vision for wind turbines in region, including alignment of product development plans with regional market strategies
Segment and target GE’s product development efforts based on wind conditions, project constraints, customer buying behavior, and regional volume
Define 2-5-year product plans for all target countries, including product requirements and timing for new products
Create business cases for new product development and track “say-do ratio” progress against business cases
Create long-term market vision for your region based on depth of understanding of power market and wind auction fundamentals, wind customer and project economics, cost of electricity roadmaps, and customer activities
Participate in customer dialogues and the interpretation of market and customer trends
Lead and drive cross-functional efforts to increase competitiveness across the ONW value chain
Provide guidance and collaborate with strategic marketing teams to ensure trends and insights are integrated into single view for the region
Build strong relationships with region teams and customers. Influence and shape product views with these teams
Bachelor's Degree in business administration, marketing, business or engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 7 years of product development, strategic marketing, or similar experience
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience within product development, strategic marketing or similar roles within wind or a technically focused business-to-business industry
- Ability to travel up to 25% of time (for customer and team)
Experience and knowledge of renewable energy products and industry landscape
Excellent understanding of wind OEM’s product portfolios, business models, business drivers, and value chain

Experience from working in a complex, matrixed organizations. Strong global mindset and acumen
Ability to perform under dynamic work environment managing multiple deliverables
Ability to function effectively under pressure in environments of rapid change and conflicting demands
Ability to assimilate technical and commercial information and translate that into appropriate business assessments
Strong process and program management skills; proven analytical skill set
Business acumen and customer focus
Proven influencing skills with strong stakeholder management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills required (at all levels of communication within company – with team, stakeholders, senior leaders,etc.)
MBA or GE Leadership Program (XLP) experience
