General Electric FACTS North America Projects / Operations Leader in Saratoga Springs, New York

Role Summary:The NAM Operations Leader drives the Project Management teams in charge of executing the FACTS contracts of the NAM portfolio (EPC, EEP Projects type). You will support and provides guidance on facilities, tools, resources and skills needed to run the Projects on Budget, On Time Delivery and Quality commitments. You will initiate and drive the appropriate transformation program enabling to meet the FACTS Product Line objectives for the NAM Region.

Essential Responsibilities:In addition, you will take the responsibility of Activity Leader for the FSC (Fixed Series Compensators) / SC (Synchronous Condenser) technologies, in order get visibility on the P&L of FSC/SC at a world-wide level.

As the FACTS North America Projects / Operations Leader, you will:

  • Manage the OTR (Order to Remittance) for FACTS Projects Portfolio in NAM Region, embarking STATCOM / SVC, FSC or Sync Condensers technologies

  • Ensure Project Reviews governance in line GE Grid Solutions Operating rhythm with a key focus on Risks Management and related mitigation plans

  • Ensure KPIs dashboard issuance for the NAM Portfolio

  • Ensure a consistent Resources Management process, with appropriate workload rolling forecast

  • Drive costs reduction initiatives along with Project execution

  • Is proactively involved in the ITO (Inquiry to Order) cycle in order to contribute to planning and costs definition for a competitive execution plan

  • Ensure smooth transition of post sales activities with Services in order to secure customer satisfaction

  • Drive Quality continuous improvement Programs

  • Interface and collaborate with GS Central Functions (PMO, Engineering, Sourcing, PCA …) in order to apply common tools and processes supporting the Operational performance

  • Interface and collaborate with NAM Solutions Regional Teams for local deliveries of the Solutions

  • Fixed Series Capacitors / Sync Condensers Activity leader missions

  • Drive initiatives and changes related to the activity across the Grid Solution organization (FACTS, HVDC and the entire Grid Solutions)

  • Allow better decision making on NPI investment, go to market, operational model, support model for this activity

  • Focus on the mid-to-long term business horizon to improve the activity’s business model and performance

  • Increase our focus on FSC/SC in order to capture the growth of this market

  • Owner of the activity business model (how to sell, execute, support)

  • Accountable for long term Activity P&L improvement

  • Sponsors key initiatives for the Activity, in particular drives best practice awareness and sharing, Lean and Fastworks approaches to problem solving, liaising with Quality function to ensure mutual support and cooperation to deliver shared objectives

  • Roadmap Arbitrage between Product marketing and NPI (R&D)

  • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching to NAM Leaders reporting to you

  • Establish the strategy and implement transformation Program for a suitable integration of the team and cross-knowledge plan

  • Develop and maintain a productive working climate, promoting teamwork and cross-functional efforts to achieve and maintain excellence

  • Establish the goals that meet the needs of FACTS Product Line for NAM and implement the proper communication plan

  • Represent and promote compliance and EHS activities and serve as focal point for all compliance and EHS issues within Operation team

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience a leadership position

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Operative Manager position

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering

  • Strong project management skills and proven track record of delivering complex projects (EPC or EEP)

  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of influencing and driving strategic change agenda across the organization

  • Solid technical skills and experience in Power Electronics domain – FACTS

  • Strong customer mind-set

  • Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge / skill areas needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem

  • Strong business acumen
