Job Description Summary
Responsible for activities and processes that help the sales organization achieve business objectives. Owns/influences commercial business operating guidelines and has ownership/influence over budgets. Guided by functional policy. There is autonomy within the role to enter into/execute Commercial arrangements. High levels of Commercial judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.
Roles and Responsibilities
A trusted MES and Automation technical advisor on the Commercial Sales Team. Aligns capabilities to specific business outcomes, creates reference architectures, and calculates potential solution value in industrial verticals such as Consumer Packaged Goods, Food & Beverage, and Discrete Manufacturing.
Developing commercial expertise in the Americas, focus on the MES, Analytics, Historian and Automation product lines, Industrial Software markets, sales processes, and customers specifically in Consumer Packaged Goods, Food & Beverage, and Discrete Manufacturing. Influences future product roadmap direction acting as the voice of the customer back into organization.
Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
Leads others to find creative solutions to address complex projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
Senior professional with the ability to migrate to a leadership role in the future with the ability develop into managing a teams in the future. May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view. Influences peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.
Ability and familiarity of working with both direct sales as well as channel go to market sales strategy.
Participate in customer advisory councils, user events, marketing demand generation activities, channel events, and industry organizations.
Willingness to support professional services estimate requirements while also working in cross functional teams to develop applied solutions that can be sold broadly across the general customer population.
This role requires significant experience in the Sales of Industrial Software Solutions and performing the Solution Architecture function. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college combined with 15 years or more experience in a selling environment.
Master's or Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited university or college with at least 15 years of experience in the Industrial Software space such as MES, Historian, and Automation.
10 plus years of presentation and demo experience.
