General Electric Lead Sourcing Specialist - Supplier Quality Engineering in Sao Paulo, Brazil
Job Description Summary
You will be responsible to lead all activities required to effectively support supplier quality requirements of the composites and mechanical components, as Nacelles, Blades, Cooling Systems and other mechanical systems according to the regional demand. To achieve the success the Lead SQE will work closely with Design Engineer, Material Process Engineer, SQE team, Commodity Leaders, Buyers, Project Management and Installation team, Supplier Performance Leaders and Global Supplier Quality team.
Develop and lead First Piece Qualification plans, process.
Product verification efforts, quality system audits and supplier surveillance program.
Lead process improvement efforts using GE Renewable Energy Quality systems, e-tools and procedures to drive process quality improvements and leverage statistical tools for evaluation of process capability on critical-to-quality (CTQ) part / component characteristics.
Participate in supplier design / engineering review and approval process and internal NPI (New Product Introduction) process.
Assure quality through approval of Manufacturing Process Plan (MPP), Product and Process Quality Plan (PQP), product quality reviews, verification of quality documentation, monitoring of compliance and qualification completions / closures.
Address Cost of Quality (COQ) reduction based on customer, assembly shop and site feedback and incorporate key customer critical-to-quality parameters in supplier processes.
Ensure quality consistency and reduce variance in processes through First Piece Qualification, pilot lot approvals (when required) and with ongoing serial production.
Coordinate initiation and resolution of Supplier Deviation Requests (SDR’s), material substitutions and quality control reviews on non-conformances at supplier facility and/or wind farm sites.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) for process improvement, and preventive / corrective action as required.
Bachelor's Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
Experience in Wind Supplier Quality Engineering;
Robust experience in manufacturing assembly line of Wind Business
Strong project management experience.
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English & Spanish.
Ability and willingness to travel at least 40% as required.
Composite’s process background (Quality, Process, Engineering or Production)
APQP4 Wind Specialist Certification.
Welding, painting and NDT Qualifications (SNQC-IS, CP, END or equivalent).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
