General Electric Principal Technical Program Manager in San Ramon, California

Role Summary:

As our new Principal Technical Program Manager, you will report to the Vice President, Strategic Programs and be responsible for day-to-day execution of complex strategic and operational business initiatives. As a key member of the GE Digital operations team, your role ensures the team has the resources and processes to deliver on commitments while leading ongoing execution and delivery of strategic cross-functional programs.

Essential Responsibilities:

Additionally, you will be responsible for establishing and providing timely metrics to drive operational excellence efforts across the platform and applications. You may mentor one or more junior program managers.

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the operational vision, identify and champion internal / external best practices and ideas to improve execution and operational excellence.

  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission -- specifically, support lean management, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning

  • Help drive a lean culture across the organization.

  • Increase the effectiveness and efficiency as well as coordination and communication between functions; proactively identify and resolve issues and make recommendations for improvements to existing processes.

  • Demonstrate mastery of the intricacies of cross functional and cross business interactions and dynamics in global teams. Assure consistent, effective rhythms for collecting data and publishing metrics.

  • Be an expert in proactively using data, practical knowledge and innovative insights to drive timely decisions, determine appropriate courses of action, and forecast future needs while managing risk and uncertainty.

  • Establishes governance structure that identifies key performance indicators, sets milestones, and establishes a reporting cadence.

  • Establish and manage relationship across GE businesses & sub-businesses, partners and customers and technical expert’s levels across industries and geographies.

  • Tracks and monitors program status and metrics to ensure milestones are met, and internal and external delivery commitments are met.

  • Participate in, and oversee day-to-day operational tempos and rigor and have responsibility to coordinate activities for wing to wing product delivery.

  • Work with Executive Leadership to establish vision and drive the operational strategy, quality strategy and organizational and resource strategy.

  • Navigate through ambiguity, prioritize conflicting asks and show ability to adapt to changing situations.

  • Demonstrate strategic level skills in collaborating with different stakeholders, influencing decisions and an ability to take strategic view.

  • Leverage your domain expertise; you are expected to further the knowledge and improve productivity of your colleagues with activities such as creating learning content, giving presentations, and supporting a continuous learning culture.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). A minimum 10 years of professional experience.

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA
