Job Description Summary

As the Global Human Resources Director, Digital Functions, you will be responsible for developing and executing the HR strategy to support the objectives for key functions including Finance, Legal, Marketing, Strategy, and Innovation. In this role, you will act as the strategic thought partner for the leaders and their respective teams, working across the global partnership matrix. You will provide expertise and guidance in the areas of culture and change management, executive coaching, talent assessment and development, succession planning, performance management, and organizational design. As a member of the GE Digital Human Resources Leadership Team and direct report of the CHRO for Digital, you will be responsible for adopting lean practices within HR and embodying the leadership behaviors required as a leader in the function.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and expertise for the full scope of the HR client support for GE Digital functions, including Finance, Legal, Marketing, Strategy and Innovation.

  • Partner with leaders to develop the talent strategy supports the growth trajectory of the business by assessing current state of talent and provide a road map to deliver future state through capability gap assessment, talent identification, and project planning

  • Partner with the business leader to develop and execute both short-term and long-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives

  • Partner with business leaders to develop and embed a contemporary organizational culture and leverage change acceleration techniques to assist in driving broad change, including adoption and change management

  • Partner with Centers of Excellence, subject matter experts, and regional leaders across the HR function to develop timely and strategic programs and processes

  • Act as an organizational & simplification champion who builds organizational capabilities, reduces complexity and partners with clients to maximize team performance

  • Work with business leaders to design and implement the most effective global organizational structures and manage transitions

  • Provide timely, effective and direct coaching to business leaders, assisting in the development of strong, contemporary leadership skills

  • Provide strategic coaching to key talent in extended client group as it pertains to succession planning, career path development, and performance management

  • Lead leadership assessment in the organization, identifying key employee strengths and development needs in order to recognize, select, retain and develop key talent

  • Lead succession planning and talent development strategies for the organization, identifying critical roles, partnering with leaders on development actions to prepare preparing potential talent and pipeline talent

  • Partner across the HR Leadership team and with key global and functional partners including Finance, Labor & Employment, and Compliance

  • Strategically lead functional leaders and teams through critical HR operating rhythms such as talent reviews, functional talent pool calibrations, salary planning and performance management

  • Develop and drive strategies to attract, develop, engage and retain strong and diverse talent

  • Provide overall leadership to the GED and extended GED-matrix HR team, delivering coaching, mentoring and development opportunities (including exposure to HR Business Partner skills and experiences), communicating proactively, and ensuring HR team engagement & retention

  • Act as a partner and advisor to CHRO of GE Digital, leading cross-functional global teams as required to implement key initiatives for benefit of greater GE Digital

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related area (or a high school graduate/GED or equivalent with at least 10 years of relevant work experience).

  • Minimum 8 years prior professional work experience with demonstrated achievement and leadership in HR, Finance and/or Operations/Service-oriented environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in Human Resources & HR Business Partnership.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • In-depth understanding of HR concepts and principles gained through formal education and substantial work experience

  • Demonstrated experience in making strategic HR decisions, assessing leadership talent and effectively interfacing with high-level business and operations leaders

  • Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skill set with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical arguments tailored to the audience

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to assess situations make judgments based on practice or previous experience

  • Player-coach approach with ability to be both strategic and execution oriented

  • Coaching and leadership assessment experience

  • Approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels

  • Ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity

  • Demonstrated experience in promoting an inclusive and diverse workforce

  • Strong presentation skills and facilitation experience, needed to effectively deliver a variety of HR-related training programs to groups of managers/colleagues

  • Capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding, high performance work environment and team- oriented culture

  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, project management, organizational and change agent skills

  • Ability to energize and lead in complex, matrix, goal-driven organizations

  • Strong internal and external customer service focus, with a genuine desire to assist others
