General Electric Executive - VP of Total Rewards in San Ramon, California

Role Summary:In this role, you will lead the development and integration of global total rewards practices and programs to support the growth trajectory and strategic plan for GE Digital. You will provide expertise and strategic guidance in the areas of compensation, benefits, incentives (annual, sales, long-term), bonus harmonization and business integration. Additionally, you may lead the HR Operations function, working with the team to optimize employee lifecycle processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

Acting as an advisor and subject matter expert for the GE Digital leadership team and HR staff, you must excel at standardizing processes, establishing operating rigor and building close strategic partnerships within the business and across GE. As a member of the GE Digital HR Leadership Team, you will be responsible for adopting lean practices within HR and embodying the leadership behaviors required as a leader in the function.

  • Establish the Total Rewards strategy to support the growth trajectory of the GE Digital business and create the roadmap for delivery

Lead and support compensation plan design and manage strategic compensation projects to meet evolving talent needs of the business

  • Develop standard work and operating mechanics for the cyclical compensation processes, including annual and long-term incentives, equity incentives, and executive compensation

  • Identify and mitigate significant risks and opportunities throughout total rewards planning processes

  • Provide expertise regarding the strategic design, implementation, communication, and administration of the company’s compensation programs, partnering with business and HR leadership optimal planning and execution

  • Proactively review executive compensation matters and market trends recommended changes to compensation structure and base pay adjustments, annual and long-term cash incentive plan design changes, bonus harmonization and business integration, equity award guidelines, and competitive executive benefit programs

  • Own and drive contemporizing GE Digital’s job architecture program, ensuring that all salary programs, merit budgets and salary structures have market pricing at their core and are aligned with GE Digital’s overall philosophy

  • Develop and drive a global/international benefits strategy to ensure GE Digital’s programs attract and retain talent

  • Potentially lead the HR Operations function for GE Digital, leveraging lean practices to optimize processes and ensure data integrity throughout the employee lifecycle, working with the team to provide a best in class experience and services.

  • Prepare and present analyses, materials and recommendations to senior leadership

  • Working with L&E team, ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial and local regulations, maintaining an awareness of regulatory changes and the potential impact of those changes on current and future compensation requirements

  • Partner with GE Corporate Executive Compensation to ensure adherence to GE enterprise-wide global compensation practices and governance standards for core processes (including but not limited to year-end compensation, vendor management of GE Digital’s compensation survey providers, gender pay equity and severance policy)

  • Provide overall leadership to the GED and extended GED-matrix HR team, delivering coaching, mentoring and development opportunities, communicating proactively, and ensuring HR team engagement & retention

Act as a partner and advisor to CHRO of GE Digital, leading cross-functional global teams as required to implement key initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related area (or a high school graduate/GED or equivalent with at least 10 years of relevant work experience).

  • Minimum 10 years prior professional work experience with demonstrated achievement and leadership in HR, Finance and/or Operations/Service-oriented environment.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

  • In-depth understanding of Total Rewards concepts and principles gained through formal education and substantial work experience

  • Demonstrated experience in making strategic Total Rewards decisions and effectively interfacing with high-level business and operations leaders

  • Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skill set with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical arguments tailored to the audience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations make judgments based on practice or previous experience

  • Player-coach approach with ability to be both strategic and execution oriented

  • Coaching and leadership assessment experience

  • Approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels

  • Ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity

  • Demonstrated experience in promoting an inclusive and diverse workforce

  • Strong presentation skills and facilitation experience, needed to effectively deliver a variety of HR-related training programs to groups of managers/colleagues

  • Capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding, high performance work environment and team- oriented culture

  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, project management, organizational and change agent skills

  • Ability to energize and lead in complex, matrix, goal-driven organizations
