General Electric Application Specialist, USCAN Medical Affairs in San Ramon, California

Job Description Summary

The Radiology Clinical Applications Specialist is a field-based role providing clinical services to healthcare providers (HCPs). The role reports into the Radiology Care Area Medical Director. The Applications Specialist will provide clinical and product support to HCPs and internal partners with primary focus in MRI contrast media, along with potential for additional multimodality responsibility in X-ray and CT.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Deliver both onsite and remote customer education on MRI contrast media and/or equipment applications, suggest innovative approaches to optimize image quality and diagnostic capabilities given the unique physiochemical properties of the GE Healthcare product portfolio

  • Respond to technical/clinical inquiries from HCPs and internal partners concerning MRI contrast media and clinical application, liaising with Medical Affairs colleagues when required

  • Leverage technical, clinical, and analytical thinking to solve problems

  • Ensure proactive communication with HCPs; and assist the Care Area to record, assess, and conduct lessons learned activities

  • May be responsible for engaging Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) as a secondary role given additional bandwidth

  • Collect clinical images appropriate for use in training materials where required, with appropriate consent from the relevant center

  • Professionally represent the GE Healthcare Medical Affairs department at trade shows and scientific conferences, in compliance with industry regulations, where appropriate

  • Learn and maintain expert level knowledge of MRI systems and MRI contrast media

  • Facilitate team communication and the sharing of best practices as well as participating or leading other team initiatives as needed

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher education from an accredited university or college, preferably in the life sciences, clinical/advanced degree welcome

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience

  • Certification as imaging technologist and/or recent experience in MRI imaging; additional experience with X-ray and/or Computed Tomography is desired

  • Recent clinical experience in a medical imaging role, specifically with contrast media agents

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clinical & scientific information effectively to a range of internal stakeholders and external HCPs/customers

  • Extensive travel is required

  • Must be willing to work remotely with minimal supervision and strong sense of customer centricity

  • Location near a major airport

Desired Characteristics

  • Imaging-related clinical credentials (RT, ARRT, etc.)

  • General understanding of the SOPs and other related processes in regard to Pharma/Healthcare/Medical Affairs

  • Demonstrated familiarity with multiple manufacturers' systems and software

  • Proven professional business acumen (experience interfacing with both internal team members and HCPs as part of a solution-based team)

  • Is credible and effective in collaborating with academic centers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
