The On-Site Repair (OSR) Winder-B will serve as an experienced technician that will perform necessary repairs of certain generator stators and generator field equipment. In this role, you will work with other GE Winders and Generator Specialists as you travel to customer sites, fulfilling various repair services. Winder B will perform related duties as assigned and may direct others.
Must be a champion of workplace health and safety who maintains and ensures a safe working environment for themselves and all others.
Successfully gained access to at least 1 Nuclear Facility within the past 12 months.
A minimum of 7 years of generator experience (must be able to perform basic generator repair with little supervision)
Performs complicated operation involving dismantling, rewinding, repairing, reassembling, testing, etc., on large or more complicated AC and DC equipment such as turbine generator stators and fields.
May band and install core insulation on all type of rotating equipment
Performs related duties as assigned
Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites on short notice domestically and internationally
Must have achieved a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Must have a valid drivers licenses and be able to obtain a valid passport
Must be able to read and interpret generator drawings, prints, and schematics
Must be able to pass background and drug tests
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear facility
Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekend shifts
Ability to train others as needed
Advanced understanding of composite materials
Advanced understanding of high voltage testing equipment
Dual citizenship in Canada, the UK, or any country in the European Union
Basic computer skills
Two-year technical or Trade School Degree

The specific hourly rate] offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
