Job Description Summary
This role paints and refurbishes parts and devices.
Responsible for mixing and applying paint to various surfaces and completing touch ups.
Preparation of surfaces including plastics, carbon fiber, and other metals (Masking, sanding, and cleaning).
Use of painting tools (e.g., paint sprayer, brushes, rollers, scrapers, sanders, masks, etc.) to perform assigned work.
Capable of doing spot repair on parts and ability to use blending to cut in edges.
Repair of product (cracks, broken formers, cosmetic integrity) using grinding bench, nylon braid reinforcement and click bond.
Modification and painting of non-conforming parts from MRB, Service, and/or Manufacturing.
Upkeep and cleaning of all equipment daily, pertaining to job. (Paint sprayers, paint booth, bench grinder, drying oven, and all work related areas.)
Assess inventory and submit requisitions for all paint, paint booth, and bench grinder supplies.
Knowledge of OSHA compliance for manufacturing paint environments.
Maintaining a daily usage and waste log for OSHA compliance.
Mentor and train other painter and production associates.
Maintain a high level of productivity.
Ability to follow work instructions policies and procedures.
Ability to organize workflow to accomplish weekly targets.
Mindset for continuous improvement and lean goals.
High School Diploma/GED or local equivalent
2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing paint environment
Ability to communicate, receive and understand instructions regarding duties to be performed.
Passage of pulmonary exam as required by local practice or regulations
Demonstrated ability to communicate with co-workers and leadership
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history and educational background.
Must be willing to take a drug test.
Must be willing to work out of a plant located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Knowledge of use of automotive type paints using HVLP spray application.
5 or more years experience painting in a manufacturing or industrial environments.
Attention to detail
Previous education or certifications regarding production paint techniques.
