Engineering associated with the manufacturing process of forging and heat treating. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution and is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. Requires developed and strong foundation of functional skills and knowledge of relevant technologies.

Roles and Responsibilities
Support daily operations & provide technical guidance for Heat Treat process as well as other supporting operations in the Forging area.
Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrated with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Assist in maintaining work instructions and employee training logs certifications.
Lead & develop future investment plans for the Heat Treat area and supporting operations.
Define and control production process including tooling and equipment.
Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
Develops new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organization.
Works together with business leadership at SPB and EB level.
Delivers products as part of a team.
Works on cross functional teams.
Specifies needs, communicates about project approach, and presents outcomes of research done.
Leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
Become heat treat certifying.
Completing regulatory audits and maintaining documents
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing, Metallurgy or Heat Treating).
Desired Characteristics
Experience with Heat Treating processes.
Heat Treat Certifying Agent or willingness to train / progress into that role.
Materials science or metallurgy background
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneous
