Manage low to medium value, electrical engineering projects, ensuring that contractual obligations are met on time and to budget, whilst achieving customer satisfaction and good morale within the project team. This role is ideal for a first time or early career project manager with scope to expand and take on more complex and higher value projects in the future.

Job Description

Reporting to the Offshore Service Leader, the Project Manager will perform the following duties including but not limited to:

  • Manage multiple low to medium value new build and Conversion, Modification and Upgrade (CMU) Projects.

  • Maintain overall responsibility for all commercial aspects of the project (On time delivery, risks / opportunities, cost, billing, trading and cash collection).

  • Be the sole point of contact with customer on all matters.

  • Managing the commercial, technical and quality issues on the project.

  • Creating, maintaining and driving progress against a project plan.

  • Ensuring that all Commercial Procedures are observed and supporting the development of Procedures and project management processes.

  • Registering, compiling, submitting and negotiating order variations such as extensions of time, additional scope of supply and other claims as appropriate.

  • Carrying out regular project reviews to check progress, manage cost, identify deviations from plan, detect risk and forecast future performance.

  • Communicating with globally based multi-disciplined commercial and technical support teams

  • Ensure that GE procedures and policies are complied with.

  • Dealing with suppliers, professional bodies.

  • Identify and mitigate and escalate risks and opportunities as appropriate.

  • Travel International as appropriate for customer meetings/FAT etc.



  • Experience of:

  • Business operations & management

  • Contractual & legal aspects

  • Procurement & supplier negotiations


  • Commercial or Technical Degree

  • Professional status and/or formal qualification in a body related to Project Management


  • Relevant level of experience of working in engineering environment

  • Project Management or project management support role for product or systems projects

  • Day to day dealing with customer, commercial issues, claims and counter claims from customers.

  • Able to critique a project from a financial view and carry out a thorough financial review

  • Working with global teams


  • Proactive nature.

  • Effective communicator at all levels

  • Full UK driving license

  • Ability to achieve Security Clearance at least to ‘Basic’ level
