General Electric Lead Field Service Engineer in Rochester, New York

Job Description Summary

The role will provide project focused technical support for all Industrial Communication (INDC) products operation and system designs and integration. Additionally, diagnostics, configuration, & commissioning for the GEMDS family of products with a strong focus on LTE/4G/5G systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Project Planning Specialist, you will:

  • Be on-site in Rochester, NY to support, system designs for large and small project.

  • Work with supply chain in the development of BOM’s for customers systems and report out / interface with customers on systems.

  • Support pre-sales development of Scope-of-Work as they pertain to RF Systems.

  • Be highly proficient on RF Systems/ LTE Systems / and the optimization therein.

  • Communicates with all areas of INDC in supporting Customers including; Sales, Technology, Product Services, Quality, Manufacturing, and any others as required, to resolve customer technical issues.

  • Specify needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done

  • Be responsible for diverse clients in a region.

  • Work on the basis of predefined contracts and frameworks. Some latitude to deviate from those conditions.

  • Be responsible for major contributions to the development of an operational year plan for own department activities of the team.

Required Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience


  • Ability and willingness to travel 10%- 25% / year, more based on need. Travel is primarily US and Canada. To a much lesser extent, potentially Latin America. Valid Passport is required.
