Job Description Summary
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Staff Software Engineer - Backend Integration SAP Interfaces will capture system level requirements by brainstorming with Senior Architects, Data Scientists, and Businesses and Product Managers to identify the scope of the work and provide initial estimates and justify the estimates with facts. Leverage specialized understanding of Agile software development lifecycle to distinguish the core inputs and outputs in each cycle. Engage in technical discussions, participate in technical designs, and present technical ideas through white boarding, as well as maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation. Seek and provide feedback on design and development, make informed technology choices, after performing due diligence and impact assessment, understand whole products, their modules and the interrelationship between them, and assist in designing interfaces and information exchange between modules. Write code that meets standards and delivers the desired functionality using the technology selected for the project, drive design reviews, define interfaces between code modules, and apply existing technology to designs. Assess application performance and optimize and improved it through design and best coding practices. Implement core data structures for web services and algorithms using the language of choice and be responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure. Provide guidance to a team of 5 to 7 developers with planning and execution and design architecture, using agile methodologies such as SCRUM as well as work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements and vision. Design and implement SAP integration technologies using RFC, ABAP, XI/PI, BAPI, JDBC, and HTTP/S communications protocols and design and develop XI/PI interfaces using difference Adapters, including HTTP, SOAP, IDOC, RFC, FILE, PROX, and JDBC.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Information Systems or STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or related and 3 years of progressively responsible post-Bachelor's degree related experience. Company will accept any suitable combination of education and experience as equivalent to a US Bachelor's degree as determined by a recognized credential evaluation service. The position also requires 3 years of experience with software build, release and deployment processes. 3 years of experience with web services: SOAP, WSDL, or REST. 3 years of experience with SQL Database: Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. 3 years of experience with Java coding. 3 years of experience in interfacing with EAM/ERP systems: SAP, Maximo, or Oracle. 2 years of experience in implementing ETL and data integration solutions with Talend.
