General Electric Transmission material planning Leader in Rivalta di Torino, Italy

Role Summary:

He/she leads businesses material planning teams to ensure full material coverage for shipping level goods to satisfy customer demand.

Together with transmission business leaders is responsible for material health, KPIs monitoring (raw, WIP & finish goods inventory and turns, aged and slow moving value, assembly and spares missing parts) and related action plans.

He/she proactively works to anticipate materials issues and drives reaction efforts as well as escalation processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The material planning leader - transmission is accountable for the entire material flow of transmissions products.

  • Manage MRP needs to follow customer demand and keeping excess stock and obsolescence under control.

  • Manages process enhancement and proposes material lead-time changes if necessary.

  • Coordinate and execute material planning activities using advanced planning system.

  • Act as focal point for material corrective action plans implementation.

  • Analyze and measure actual production metrics identify problem areas that inhibit full schedule realization.

  • Ensure proper staffing in term of quantity and skills. Works to improve team performances acting as leader and coach where opportunities arise.

  • Promote collaborative approach both internally and externally materials organization (fulfillment, logistic, sourcing, quality, ME, DE and OTR).


  • Technical bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

  • Significant experience in manufacturing, production planning and aeronautical environment.

  • Inventory management, material management, shop operation.

  • EU work permit.

  • Fluent English and Italian.

  • Individual must be a self-starter, creative and clear thinker.

  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.

  • APICS qualified or similar.
