Job Description Summary

At Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

As Senior Engine Certification Expert you will support Catalyst and Eurodrone certification programs including contacts with civil (FAA and EASA) and military authorities. You will coordinate effort of certification, design and test teams in order to achieve products certification.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Propose and agree with the Authorities the "Type-Certification Basis" and the method for demonstrating the compliance (Means of Compliance)

  • Lead the Certification Program (CP) definition by issuing the relevant documents

  • Co-ordinate with the Authorities about all necessary actions for fulfilling the completion of the CP.

  • Manage the "Compliance Check-List"

  • Make regular reporting to the Regulatory Authorities about the progress of the certification and scheduled tests

  • Support execution of the certification program in terms of engine and component tests planning, analyses definition and teardowns/inspections planning

  • Flow down regulatory requirements to design and systems communities

  • Write certification test plans and reports for FAA and EASA

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Electronic engineer from an accredited university or college

  • Advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Technical Regulations and Standards

  • Experience with certification of aircraft engines or similar aerospace products

  • Good knowledge of FAA and/or EASA certification requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

  • Ability to document, plan, and execute programs

  • Established project management skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel both locally and Internationally (up to 20-30% of work time)

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

  • Systems engineering background

  • Experience with leading engine/components tests for aerospace or industrial products
