General Electric New Product Introduction Quality Leader in Rivalta di Torino, Italy

Role Summary:The NPI Quality Leader will establish a robust & effective process to meet quality requirements - external and internal - at start of new product launch.

You will lead the NPI Quality Team leading strategic planning and contributing to the overall business strategy in the NPI phase, guaranteeing the smoothest transition to production and ensuring on time delivery with the highest quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive the quality assurance and quality control activities of the NPI Programs for relevant components/modules from Contract review to the final delivery and through-out the certification phase, interacting with all the involved Company functions, Customers / Partners, Suppliers and Certification Bodies.

  • Execute strategies to establish a Manufacturing Process that meets design requirements at the start of production to ensure a smooth transition from design phase with Design, Manufacturing and Quality

  • Manage the Review of Customer Quality requirements and the relevant Avio Aero compliance with them and negotiate agreements with the Customer

  • Build solid relationships with key Customers and Suppliers (internal & external), and drive the flow-down of Customer requirements within all Avio Aero sites involved in the program and throughout the Supply Base, working closely both with Plant Quality and Operations and with Supplier Quality

  • Discuss with the Customer Compliance Matrices and Quality Plans and validate them

  • Manage the APQP implementation in cooperation with CTH, QS and CME

  • Develop gold standard for production approval process (including VSE, FAI and PPAP) and for RC&CA analysis, fostering a proactive and preventive approach

  • Prepare specific training material to support the flow-down and the implementation of Customer quality requirements in cooperation with the QMS Dept.

  • Interface with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly, Program Management and Vendors to assure requirements are met on time, meeting specifications.

  • Establish and execute strategic roadmap for process / product improvement projects and provide process method excellence throughout the organization to enhance the highest level of producibility and process capability

  • Supervise activities such as field issues and failures investigations, root cause analyses and implementation of corrective actions, lessons learned issues and consequently design standard updates

  • Guide PFMEA, in cooperation with the Manufacturing, Quality and Lean

  • Develop scorecards for all NPI and all work transfers, working closely with IT and Digital Technology

  • Analyze quality KPI/data (Escapes, FTY, DPU) in order to proactively identify needs and opportunities for quality improvement

  • Present product / program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leaders (EB and SEB) across the organization

  • Select, hire, train, and provide ongoing leadership of assigned personnel to meet organizational goals

  • Provide leadership for organization Quality and Technical activities on problem identification and resolution

  • Develop and deliver solutions that enable the team to successfully execute quality initiatives


  • Mechanical/Aerospace/Industrial Engineering Master's degree from an accredited university or college

  • Several experience in a Quality, Manufacturing, and/or Engineering supervisory role that provides leadership to cross-functional teams

  • Deep Knowledge of APQP and Quality Management System

  • Deep Knowledge of machining, assembly and test processes

  • Deep knowledge of 6 Sigma, PFMEA, MSA and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

  • Authoritatively interface either with Customers and with all the other company functions (i.e. Program Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, etc) proactively and in a timely manner

  • Six sigma GB/BB certified

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and influencing skills

  • Fluent in English

  • EU work permit
