Job Description Summary
The Field Service Engineer will support naval automation systems installed on military ships in a global context, remotely supporting the team dedicated to the commissioning of a foreign Navy aircraft carrier, with the possibility of short-term interventions at the customer's site.
The activity will continue with customer support after the final delivery.
The candidate will have to manage the maintenance contracts that will be signed with the end customer. During the life phase of the plant, it will have to manage the evolution of technologies and propose the resolution of existing obsolescence.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Provide remote technical assistance during on-board installation, preventive and corrective maintenance according to GE Avio instructions and procedures (technical and safety)
Manage and provide the maintenance activities with customers: troubleshooting, interventions, reporting, giving assistance by mail or phone, training of crew onboard or in site, defining schedule of maintenance.
Assist in ensuring parts meet established schedules.
Review reported malfunctions and identified / analyze any undesirable trends
Propose and drive solutions for components obsolescence management.
Carry out functional tests of systems or components with the presence of Inspectors, if required by customer
Issue of technical documents (i.e. reports, specifications, electrical schemes, test procedures) relevant to the systems to be maintained or retrofit
Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements
Degree in Electronics Engineering, master preferred
Knowledge of electronics and control system
Available for short-term business trips in the EU and outside the EU
Capability to manage concurrent and different tasks.
Spirit of initiative and autonomy facing problems emerging in technical environment with many actors.
Ability to manage a small technical group
Good Analysis skills and strong attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required
