OMLP accelerates the development of entry-level talent and produces leaders capable of meeting the challenges facing our Global Supply Chain (inclusive of manufacturing, sourcing, materials, and quality) functions at AvioAero. We are now gathering potential candidates who would be interested in this role for the March 2022 start.
We offer a permanent contract for this role.
OMLP is a 2-year program consisting of three 8-month rotations that allow members to build leadership and functional skills across AvioAero’s Global Supply Chain through challenging rotational assignments and world-class training. Training topics include LEAN manufacturing, functional expertise (logistics, quality, advanced manufacturing, etc.), as well as leadership and personal development topics.
There are 3 mandatory rotation types every OMLP will complete:
Technical (e.g., quality engineer, manufacturing engineer)
Sourcing/Materials Management (e.g., buyer, contracts administrator, LEAN logistics specialist)
Manufacturing Shop Operations Supervisor (i.e., people leader of hourly workforce)
During these rotations, an OMLP typically will:
Collaborate with their Assignment Leader in setting and achieving realistic and challenging goals
Plan and perform assigned tasks within the framework of areas’ schedules, budget, quality, and cost constraints whilst maintaining accuracy and thoroughness in results
Demonstrate ability to understand and apply operational and technical fundamentals in the business environment using analytical and problem-solving skills
Develop cooperation and teamwork while leading diverse groups in the development and implementation of team goals
Generate innovative ideas and apply change best practices to ensure impact of key initiatives
N.B. Domestic relocation is typically required while on program.
In parallel to the rotational assignments above, every OMLP will complete training in the following areas (but not limited to): Aviation Industry Knowledge, Supply Chain Management, EHS, LEAN Manufacturing Operations, Six Sigma Quality training with Greenbelt Certification, Project Management, Negotiation Skills, and Business Acumen.
Master’s Degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace, Mechanical, Energy, Materials or Management Engineering from an accredited University or college
Outstanding academic achievements – Top 25% class (final grade minimum 104/110 or GPA 3 out of 4)
Previous junior experience (e.g., co-op, intern), preferably in manufacturing/Global Supply Chain
English and Italian fluency, written and verbal
EU Work Permit
Geographic flexibility and global mindset with a willingness and ability to work in any of AvioAero’s 6 manufacturing locations
Knowledge of technical drawings
Deep passion for aviation/aerospace plus strong commitment for a career in Global Supply Chain
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills coupled with the ability to connect with all levels of the organisation showing openness, transparency & humility
Strong curiosity to learn
Able to own a/o coordinate many tasks concurrently with high execution & follow-through
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to breakdown the issues and formulate plans to address and rectify situations in a fast-paced environment
Ability to solve problems and make meaningful change benefiting our customers, people, and organisation in a team/manufacturing environment
Previous study or working experience abroad will be considered as a plus
Previous work experience in aviation/aerospace will be considered as a plus
