General Electric Quality Assurance Engineer - Wind Farms in Richmond, Australia

Role Summary:The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for creating and implementing a strategy for quality coordination and testing as well as suggesting solutions to identified quality problems. The role will work closely with project engineering to oversee the quality of specifications and technical design documents in order to ensure timely and safe delivery of the wind farm projects via EPC.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining quality engineering methodologies and providing quality engineering support for the project delivery.

  • Work with project execution team across portfolio to deliver best quality and flawless product.

  • Coordinating quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures between design and project team.

  • Monitoring and controlling the product quality issues across the projects using internal GE systems.

  • Follow up on the status of service cases across all the projects and reporting accordingly.

  • Assisting project teams in streamlining the product quality communication to appropriate owners in the design engineering team via service case.

  • Informing and coordinating the good practices, design changes, engineering changes on the products to project teams.

  • Assist project teams by working through the engineering databases to provide required drawings, part numbers, manuals and other product design related documents.

  • Providing relevant feedback to the design engineering team in overseas on the product quality issues during the project execution for the continuous quality improvement.

  • Develop policies and procedures to drive improvements, compiling and updating lesson learnt registers.

  • Assist with the creation and maintaining of the project risk register, issues register and non-conformance register.

  • Create templates for different project documents including the engineering documents.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering or a related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment

  • Extremely detail-oriented

Great troubleshooting skills

  • Working knowledge of product development and manufacturing processes

  • Excellent organization and time-management

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Travel within Australia will be required for short periods of time

  • Due to international business contacts, attendance at out of hours teleconferences may be required
