General Electric Lead Site Specialist - Contract Management in Remote, Taiwan

Job Description Summary

You will support Civil and M&E subcontract formation and administration, and execution of the Project Contract at the site. This includes but not limits to supporting the negotiation of terms and conditions to align with the applicable terms the Project Contract; gathering and tracking information and documentation to protect GE’s rights under the Project Contract and Consortium Agreements; and to prepare for any risk or claim mitigation involving site issues.

Roles and Responsibilities

You will be based at project site office and perform the duties including but not limited to below

  • Support the establishment of site contract administration strategy including subcontract strategy with the Project Manager, Site Installation Manager, M&E Manager;

  • Manage and administrate site subcontracts, including Civil and M&E subcontracts to ensure that GE’s rights are enforced and reserved.

  • Supports the Project Contract Manager in the management and administration of the project contract and consortium agreement with consortium partners.

  • Establish and maintain event logs, risk and claims registers and ensure event records are maintained about consortium partner's delays, GE's delays affecting the consortium partner, or any other issues encountered at site.

  • Support NCR management and liaise with the responsible department to initiate back-charges/supplier recoveries.

  • Track all delays, costs, damages and scope issues at Site, and communicate mitigation plans to internal key stakeholders;

  • Support project team on contractual issues focuses on site (e.g. site correspondence, providing information to Project Contract Manager for customer claims).

  • Attend daily, weekly & monthly site meetings as needed, including Site Management & Progress review meetings to document delays, damages and disputed issues.

  • Escalate to Project Contract Manager all non-budgeted costs including delays to ensure claim notifications are submitted by Project Contract Manager in accordance with contractual obligations.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical study or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Construction or Engineering;

  • Proven experience in the administration and management of contracts for construction projects e.g Power Plants, Petrochemical Plants, Civil/Infrastructural project etc or mega EPC

  • Site Contract Management and construction claims negotiation experience;

  • Full understanding of project controls, cycles, and logic as it relates to engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operation of a power plant;

  • Fluent in both English and Chinese languages

Desired Characteristics

  • Eye for details and ability to work in multicultural and fast pace environments;

  • Additional professional qualifications e.g. PMI, RICS would be beneficial;

  • Good communication and influencing skills;

  • Open to criticism, able to handle multiple priorities and conflicts simultaneously.
