GE Aerospace is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on Network Operations which is an advanced product suite of digital solutions for commercial airlines designed to help manage and mitigate disruptions. By minimizing the impact of delays of the flights, cancellations, and other disruptions (like weather, mechanical issues etc.), Network Operations enables airlines to improve passenger satisfaction, reduce costs, increase profitability, and achieve overall operational excellence.

This role is based in Turkey, applications from other countries will not be evaluated.

There will be need to meet in person in the office periodically for meetings/team events and any other occasions needed.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for owning the product development backlog with the rest of the development and product team across the globe. This ownership includes development of features/user stories that are defined and prioritized by Product Management team, delivery of the commitments on time, coordination with the team to figure out best potential solution for our customers, enable secure and continuous delivery with hitting quality targets. You will be practicing Agile Software Development practices for everything you do.

• Act as a member of the global product development team, representing the face of high-quality design and development practices

• Develop high performing, scaling and innovative end-to-end web applications

• Collaborate with PO, DevOps, security and software engineers to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions

• Apply principles of Agile Software Development, CI/CD, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring, and Testing Techniques

• Develop code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project

• Build features such as web services and Queries on existing tables

• Understand performance parameters and assess application performance

• Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using language of choice

Requirements/ Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

• Min 7 years experience

• Professional experience in Software development industry as Sr Software Engineer

• GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed

. Technical Expertise:

• Experience developing web applications with Java including Spring framework by using object-oriented design and distributed system design.

• Experienced/Willing to work as full stack developer both in frontend and backend.

• Development experience with databases.

• Knowledgeable about code repository/version control process and managing dependencies.

• Experience with Azure.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with JavaScript

• Knowledgeable of Apache beam

• Experience with at least one of the following front-end technologies:

• AngularJS/Angular, Typescript, VUE.js, React.js/Polymer

• Angular experience will be plus

• Hands on experience with DB/ORM technologies:

• PostgreSQL

• Deployment, dependency management, version control experience

• Hands on experience on platform and configuration management using Spring Boot

• Experience in Agile Software Development methodologies and frameworks

• Experience in unit testing frameworks like JUnit and in Test Driven Development
