Job Description Summary

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

The main responsibilities for this position are:

  • configuration and on-site commissioning of GE DCS solutions;

  • aftersales support for GE clients in the region;

  • delivery of trainings to customers (presentations, hands-on training);

  • technical support for the sales and tendering team.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

  • Technical High School Diploma or equivalent required – automation, IT systems, electrotechnical faculties being most relevant ones;

  • Experience:

  • knowledge of HV/MV systems – standards applied, specifications, requirements, communication protocols, etc.;

  • sound working experience in power systems, specifically in the field of automation, computer networks, switches, routers, gateways, etc;

  • experience in programming languages (C#, VB, etc.);

  • acquaintance of GE DCS systems will be a plus;

  • experience and knowledge of protection relays will be a plus;

  • sound interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse groups of clients, both external and internal;

  • Specific knowledge:

  • Native or fluent Polish;

  • English to effectively communicate with customers abroad and other GE functions abroad;

  • Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information;

The position involves travelling to customers’ sites home and abroad of 60% of working time. Hybrid mode of work (office/home office).
