Job Description Summary

In this role you will lead a team of project managers to plan and execute Conversions, Modification & upgrades in GE wind turbines. The CM&U projects leader will implement best practice and guidelines to meet both internal and external customer commitments. Deliver on financial commitments and targets for job planning and execution. In this role you interface across the GE Wind matrix with engineering, sourcing, finance, parts, and logistics regarding project execution matters.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead weekly operations reviews and updates on your team’s performance on key KPI’s, including revenue and margin, variance reviews of jobs performed in the field and develop action plants to improve performance.

  • Develop communication tools and processes to improve customer experience and communication of project commitments.

  • Work with cross functional teams, sourcing, engineering, parts, logistics, field services, crane team, and services product line to develop tools and procedures to drive YOY productivity

  • Develop corrective action to reduce waste, using lean tools to improve process to mitigate and drive consistency with projects operations, oversite and with field execution.

  • Create and lead lean initiatives to improve operational performance and on time delivery throughout the team

  • Ensure safe, compliant and successful execution of all onsite project obligation

  • Develop and iterate pre job planning reviews, daily customer updates, and other operational aspects to standardize best practices, communications, and driving consistent project management operations.

  • Participate in process & quality improvement and business initiatives and provide feedback on lessons learned to other departments

  • Support parts team with MCE parts forecasting to ensure forecasted demand is in line with expectations.

  • Create metrics and dashboard to ensure Ontime parts, labor, tooling, and cranes to ensure project schedule is met

  • Provide daily job status and cost updates to internal stakeholders

  • Own and deliver on return to service and cost metrics for all major component exchanges

  • Be the point of contact for customer communication.

  • Develop and retain talent for all direct reports.

  • All activities related to the supervision, organization and execution of a service project, including scope, time, contract (if not covered by a dedicated Contract Manager) cost & quality management. Responsibility for project methodologies and standards including scheduling and control , to fulfill a customer order or need according to financial/commercial parameters and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.

  • Leads others to find creative solutions within complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Employs sophisticated operational/product management, manufacturing or engineering techniques. Interaction with adjacent functions needed to solve issues. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

  • Presents business or technical discipline solutions to leaders. Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view. Influences peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or engineering from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of finance, operations, and / or projects experience in field services.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

  • Proven onshore wind experience or experience in a related discipline

  • Ability to lead people, and able to adapt and succeed in a matrix environment

  • Proven ability to drive projects and initiatives to completion within acceptable time frame.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across a diverse audience, including senior leaders in the organization and external customers senior representatives

  • Demonstrable financial acumen and being business savvy

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • High motivation level; self-starter with good communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work with Lean tools

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
