General Electric Benefits Delivery Project Manager in Remote, New York

Job Description Summary

In this role, you will lead various projects and initiatives related to GE’s U.S. Benefits programs, including in the Life Insurance and Education & Family Services (EFS) benefit areas. You will work in collaboration with resources from payroll, benefits, service delivery and other People Operations teams, and will be responsible for the delivery of a set of project deliverables on-time, within budget expectations, and to the desired impact and results. You will work with the project manager & other team members, participating in all aspects of the planning and implementation of relevant initiatives for the business.

Job Description


• Lead and participate in cross-functional project efforts between key operational processing areas including but not limited to: work driven by GE company separation efforts and PeopleSoft data integrity assessments and corrections as required

• Project management activities including: defect identification and resolution, resource management, setting and achieving critical milestones, and tracking/reporting progress

• Manage select benefit delivery suppliers, developing partnerships, communicating guidelines, performance standards and maintaining strong operating rhythms

• Coordinate with corporate stakeholders and other People Operations resources to establish project plans and timelines

• Ensure programs and practice changes are compliant within legal guidelines

• Develop broad knowledge of processing procedures to ensure successful execution

• Drive process improvement projects and implementation with a focus on customer satisfaction and standardization

• Serve as Subject Matter Expert on GE’s Life Insurance, EFS and other benefit plans as assigned

• Serve in business analyst role, partnering with Benefit Operations team in creating functional specifications for system coding, ensuring team can accurately administer benefits for GE’s varied and complex populations

• Work collaboratively across internal teams and establish strong working relationships with GE Businesses and key stakeholders

• Resolve complex processing issues and escalations for internal and external customers while promoting “Best in Class” customer service


• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related area (or a high school graduate/GED or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant work experience)

• Minimum 3 years prior project management experience

Desired Characteristics:

• 5+ years project management experience in a medium to complex, service oriented environment

• Experience in a project management/process improvement/quality role within a Pay and Benefit Delivery operation

• Experience with PeopleSoft

• Experience with supplier management

• Business analyst experience with proven ability to translate user needs into functional specifications

• Lean / Six Sigma certification or experience implementing a Change Acceleration Process (CAP) and facilitating team workouts

• Solid interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team-based environment

• Strong customer service focus, with the ability to anticipate customer needs with a high level of responsiveness

• Experience establishing and maintaining customer relationships

• Supportive team player with a drive to create a positive work environment

• Applies solid judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, & confidentiality

• Passion for continuous process improvement and simplification

• Ability to anticipate and resolve challenges

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to organize and analyze data

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing across all levels within the organization

• HR systems knowledge

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Ability to quickly embrace new technologies
