General Electric Tender Marine Operations Lead in Remote, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary

The Offshore Wind US Tender Marine Operations Lead will be closely working with the Services and Project Tenders and Sales teams.

You will be coordinating the marine operations package for the Offshore Wind Tenders in the United States for the construction and services contracts. You will be responsible to define an optimized marine strategy and ensure competitive offer with respect to environment, health and safety and local requirements.You will have the chance to participate to largest Wind Offshore projects development and tenders in US

Essential Responsibilities:

US Tenders Marine Operations Lead will be responsible to

  • define and optimize marine logistics strategies (ie access means : CTV (Crew Transfer Vessel), SOV (Service Operations Vessel), port logistics) for Offshore wind farms Tenders (for both Project and Operations and Maintenance contracts)

  • support the sales team with customers documentations package review, preparation of deviation lists and participation to operational and contractual clarification meetings with customer

  • Responsible to develop and maintain up to date the standard documentation package and processes related to marine operations for Tenders

  • launch enquiries to market together with sourcing marine operations to build up the global access means categories and cost-catalog for each specific regions

  • provide the sales team with an accurate, reliable and state of the art marine operations and market evolution

  • develop tools & processes to facilitate and optimize tendering activities, reduce risks and ensure more accurate, complete and competitive offers within the area of responsibility

  • Perform evaluation, inspection of vessels and ports (O&M base and commissioning harbor)

  • Ensure lesson learned from project & O&M in execution are applied to the Tenders

  • Define minimum Heavy logistics and Jack up requirements, strategies and associated costing for major component exchange preparation for Operations & Maintenance phase;

  • Evaluate the Carbon footprint of marine logistic strategies for specific wind farm and propose innovations and mitigations to reduce fuel consumption and overall project impact

  • Ensure risk identification, analysis and mitigation plan within the area of responsibility

  • Follow up and reporting marine operations KPI’s in Tenders

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Maritime Shipping equivalent knowledge

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven knowledge and/or experience in Offshore & Maritime (renewable energy , in maritime transport, shipyard , ports activities or O&G sector )

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment with remote teams

  • Ability and willingness to travel international

  • Technical or marine commercial education at MSC level (e.g. engineer in naval architecture, marine officer/engineer)

  • Strong team player

  • Experienced and poise when dealing with customers

  • Proven offshore wind experience or experience in a related discipline

  • High motivation level; self-starter with strong communication skills

  • Ability to execute and meet targets within cost budgets working within a global matrix organization

  • Structured/methodical work behaviors and technical analytical proficiency

  • Distinct quality awareness, technology foresight in identification and solving of failures, deficiencies and issues.

  • Ability to Identify and manage internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects

  • Ability to document, plan and execute programs

  • Established project management skills

  • Fit to work offshore, on vessels and other maritime construction
