The Sub Regional EHS Manager will ensure compliance with EHS policies, programs, and procedures and government standards. Will communicate and contribute to the development of policies and programs, assist with conducting audits and onsite inspections, and analyze data to provide recommendations for improving processes and programs. The EHS Manager will interact with customers, government agencies, and other functions for customer pre-qualification and project/outage planning requirements across the outage EHS Plan, do, check , act cycle taking active part on ORR and post outage learning. The EHS manager will collect, consolidate, and analyze data from multiple sources to determine site entry statuses for field employees. The EHS manager will recommend innovative solutions and process improvements across multiple areas to achieve overall EHS blueprint. As well as meet any other assigned duties to help proactively activity performance align with SP organization’s core values.
Support EHS planning for the ORR and wing to wing outage planning.
Provide Region EHS Managers with in-depth analysis of metrics and recommended ways to improve safety policies and programs
Contribute to the development of an effective Accident Prevention Program
Ensure that all employees are informed of, comprehend, and comply with EHS policies and procedures as well as local regulations
Communicate weekly updates regarding injury and illness awareness and mitigating measures
Assist with preparing for unannounced audits and inspections by government entities, including but not
limited to federal, state, or local municipalities
Conduct internal audits and provide recommendations to improve audit scores
Manage OSHA incident and injury reporting within specified guidelines,
Conduct timely and accurate follow up investigations
Ensure that all EHS training is up to date for all personnel, including customer training and/or job specific required training
Perform other duties to help support our Steam Power vision and align with our organization’s core values.
Ensure closing of actions related to EHS events, audits and regulatory issues
Ensure required level of compliance to FW 2.0
Ensure Site EHS Specialist required onboarding
Interface with Resource Manager regarding Site EHS Specialist assignments to outages
Interface with Customer Service Leader regarding workload forecast and outage planning
Track and trend EHS data within Gensuite
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in a curriculum related to safety (or the equivalent in training and experience with a minimum of two years in an EHS related position in construction, power generation, or technical industry)
Minimum 7 years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge
Field experience is required in power plants
English proficiency required
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Ability to form, lead, motivate, and direct a strong and effective team
Strong organizational and research skills
Strong analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to prepare accurate reports containing findings and recommendations
Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and tasks with accuracy and speed under the pressure of
time sensitive deadlines
Strong customer service skills and interpersonal skills
Professional certification in EHS field such as CSP or CIH.
