General Electric Full Stack Software Engineer - React / C# .NET - REMOTE in Remote, Louisiana

Job Description Summary

In this role, you will join an existing team of talented Software Engineers creating our next generation Cyber Security platform which enables Cyber Security teams to audit applications effectively. Your efforts, along with efforts of the team you will be working on, will not only deliver our next generation Cyber Security platform, but will directly contribute to solutions that truly help Cyber Security professionals perform their jobs in an efficient manner.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will :

  • Build upon the latest suite of Application Security products utilizing modern development frameworks and methodologies, full CI/CD, and infrastructure automation in the Azure cloud space.

  • Collaborate with system engineers, full stack developers, and product owners to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions

  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques

  • Writes code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using a variety of technologies Build new features for SPA and Microservice based projects in modern Cloud environments

  • Understand performance parameters and assess application performance

  • Develop new and existing technologies using the following tools: Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud, .NET Core, React, Node.js, JavaScript, Python, Consul, et al

Education Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with a minimum 2 years of experience or 4 years of experience without a degree.

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:

  • Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, AngularJS, React, et al

  • Experience with database tools (Postgres, JDBC, Entity Framework)

  • Experience with Object Oriented backend-technologies such as C#, Java, .NET Core, Spring

  • Knowledge of modern development tools such as Git, Visual Studio, VS Code, Postman

  • Comfortable in working with the latest programming architectures in the form of SPA applications, Web APIs, and Database ORMs in Cloud environments

  • Aware of methods and practices such as Lean/Agile/XP, etc.

  • Prior work experience in an agile environment, or introductory training on Lean/Agile. Aware of and able to apply continuous integration (CI).

  • General understanding of the impacts of technology choice to the software development life cycle.

  • Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.

  • Understands the technology landscape, up to date on current technology trends and new technology, brings new ideas to the team.

  • Displays understanding of the project’s value proposition for the customer. Shows commitment to deliver the best value proposition for the targeted customer.
