GE Renewable Energy’s Offshore Wind business is growing rapidly and is currently establishing a presence in the Northeast of the US, and the Northeast of England in support of Offshore Wind projects in the North Sea.
In the current process of business growth, facing projects with Haliade X Offshore Wind Platform - the Lead Authorising Engineer will execute an important role, both for the field teams support as well as the creation and release of Project Commissioning Engineering documentation, in order to ensure an optimal level of knowledge transfer, achieving both Technical and EHS excellence. Quality & Customer Satisfaction will be the main goals.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
The Lead Authorizing Engineer ( Documentation) will be a dedicated role, ensuring compliance is met with respect to the completion safety documentation (AWP) for offshore WTG
Follow Haliade X Service Strategy to ensure an optimal on time works execution
Create, Release, Review and Control documentation for Haliade X Service procedures considering the most up to date Electrical Machinery Standards
Ensure a proper link and communication between Service Engineering and Design Engineering Departments
Propose process improvements to optimize security and / or reduce costs; special attention should be paid to EHS compliance
Assist Global Safe Systems of Work Leader with technical SSoW related solutions
Assist Authorization Manager with any technical authorization related solutions.
Point of contact for all stakeholders with technical related requests/questions.
Assist Global Safe Systems of Work Leader resolve any SSoW rule breaches.
Assist Global Safe Systems of Work Leader in the review and audit of the SSoW
Required Qualifications
Extensive background working on electromechanical systems
Wealth of WTG Service/Commissioning experience in electrical systems
WTG Service/Commissioning experience in Safe systems of work, preferably in WTSR
English language [recommended] (Spanish and Portuguese languages [as a plus])
High Voltage experience preferred
EHS experience preferred
Experience in wind turbines commissioning and/or service
Experience with tools, suppliers, and use of quality tools
Desired Characteristics
Ability to prepare tests, documentation checklists and test plans
Able to work well under own direction.
Ability to work from procedures, as built drawings & System Schematics.
High degree of EHS and quality awareness.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong interpersonal people management and leadership skills.
PC knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Knowledge of specifications, design, maintenance, construction, commissioning and/or service issues applicable to wind energy and the offshore sector
Knowledge of the operation of wind turbine synchronous generators: yaw, cooling circuits, hydraulic systems, variable frequency drives
