General Electric Lead Repair Forecaster in Remote, Georgia

Job Description Summary

• Responsible for facilitating the generation, distribution, and accuracy of piece-part and hours repair forecast for effective operations in the global repair network.

• Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy and guided by established policies or review of end results.

• Role is based in Cincinnati, OH but open to candidates working remotely. Expected to support multiple time zones and global teams.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for forecasting component repair at the shop and cell level across global repair network

  • Create and Maintain - new & existing forecasting demand models based on business insights research & analysis

  • Work with internal and external customers to improve forecast signals and process

  • Analyze business trends, identify gaps & recommend business opportunities to support business growth

  • Actively participate in monthly business planning cycles, interact directly with repair and overhaul shop leadership teams

  • Actively participate in LEAN/Kaizen events. Develop and execute plan for process improvement and standardization opportunities within forecasting function

  • Participate & support digitization projects

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in a quantitative or analytical field. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a highly analytical and quantitative area, such as Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, etc. plus 3 to 7 years working experience in engineering or other quantitative discipline (Industrial or Operations Engineering preferred)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience building models or generating quantitative forecasts

  • Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master’s degree in any discipline (Business, Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field) preferred

  • Ability to translate complex datasets to understandable trends and market patterns using data visualization & analytics tool such as TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau, or similar

  • Strong knowledge in statistical modelling

  • Familiar with machine learning concepts, methods, and tools

  • Understanding and working knowledge of capacity & supply chain planning

  • Working knowledge of data processing and automation tools (Dataiku, Alteryx, or similar)

  • Working knowledge of programming/scripting languages (Python, R, or similar)

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel and PowerPoint

  • Flexible and resilient to respond constructively to new challenges

  • Self-starter able to operate autonomously with minimal guidance to consistently achieve high quality output

  • Detail-oriented, while also constantly prioritizing needs with resources available; able to support multiple projects and/or business functions at once

  • Excellent communication skills, interacts with multiple levels and functions with the distribution organization, and able to manage relationships

  • Able to thrive on a small core team and frequently interact with cross-functional teams

  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn
