The Tax Controller is responsible for driving direct and indirect tax technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. The Tax Controller also determines and minimizes the company's tax liability with the highest integrity while complying with tax laws. The Tax Controller report to Global Tax Director and dotting line to Global Business Controller.

Who You Are:

You are someone who brings solid technical tax knowledge, your experience in similar job and capability to work in a multicultural environment.

You have experience with Us GAAP tax provisions including but not limited to determination of ETR, monitoring the Fin 48, ASC 740, FAS 109, implementation of tax obligations and systems to meet tax reporting requirement.

Your Role:

  • Handles globally all wing-to-wing direct and indirect tax reporting and tax accounting processes including forecasting, tax provision, compliance and settlement.

  • Institute governance mechanisms with oversight responsibility on overall tax filling milestones for both indirect and direct taxes.

  • The Tax Controller is supported by GE statutory/Tax individuals and BPO (PwC an Genpact).

  • Monitor changes in direct and indirect tax legislation while supporting tax director.

  • Prepare and submit quarterly US GAAP tax provisions and provide flux and composition analytics on income tax accounts and tax provision on a quarterly basis.

  • Evaluate all current and deferred income tax balances for accuracy and valuation as well as the income tax account reconciliations to ensure they are completed in accordance with GE account reconciliation policy and best practice.

  • Coordinate and review the quarterly estimated income tax payments, annual fillings of local income tax returns, and provision-return settlements along with preparation of quarterly/ annual cash tax forecasts

  • Manage the implementation of tax obligations and systems to meet tax reporting requirements.

  • Ensure the accuracy of the statutory ledgers used for tax reporting purposes along with ownership of tax balances in the books.

  • Perform periodic assessments of tax audit risks, progress of litigation and proactively prepare defense files. Ensure the FIN48 accrued liability is properly valued and contemporized on a quarterly and year-end basis.

  • Support U.S. Foreign Information Reporting process.

  • Prepare and complete various, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting submissions such as tax proofs, ERT and cash tax reports and, more globally, all the required data to prepare ASC740 and FAS109 disclosures for GE financial reporting purposes.

  • Support M&A workstreams to provide tax accounting advisory and insight to minimize the Company’ tax liability and provide accounting answer in coordination with Controllership.

  • Support Transfer Pricing analysis and reporting.

  • Coordinate reconciliation from statutory earnings to tax reporting.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Law school

  • Certified Public Accountant certificate or equivalent professional license is preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of tax experiences in tax advisory and/or major industrial businesses

  • Fluency in English (both verbal and written)

  • This role is available for remote employment anywhere within the Eastern US time zone

The salary range for this position is $ 101,250.00 - 135,000.00 - 168,750.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for variable incentive compensation.
