General Electric Sr Services Manager - Digital Implementation Services in Redmond, Washington

Role Summary:

This is a key role within Gird - Software Solutions working directly with customers to improve operations and deliver outcomes. It brings together industrial process knowledge, complex analytics and the power of software to optimize systems. It is an exciting opportunity at the intersection of several key areas of expertise in a growing GE Power Digital community.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Able to lead one or more complex projects using jr. level staff to complete tasks.

  2. Manage complex custom software development tasks.

  3. Manages design of subsystems and integration of total system.

  4. Provides technical direction in the system development and has general responsibility for system integration and testing.

  5. Ensure generation of project and system documentation and that internal testing is completed. Responsible for development of progress reports to the customer. Responsible for documentation on all tasks and development work assigned.

  6. Interfaces with customers on all technical, project, and business issues.

  7. Provides input to Project Manager on schedules and cost estimates.

  8. Works directly with the customer to resolve any technical issues that may develop. Keeps customers abreast of technical developments.

  9. Conducts technical review of application designs and works with the application areas to ensure that project requirements are met, providing technical guidance and direction in all phases.

  10. Ensures that the system developed and delivered to the customer is of high quality and meets all technical requirements of the contract.

  11. Provides marketing support for proposals and demonstrations to potential customers. Identifies potential customers/sales opportunities.

  12. Works with Project Manager to create project schedules, scope changes, and execute project hand-off to customer support.

  13. Tracks progress of the other engineers, software development and integration effort and assist in the resolution of any technical issues that may arise.

  14. Plays a key role in training/mentoring integrators, interns and other staff. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  15. May be required to work extended hours, carry cell phone and be on call.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  1. Requires seven (7) years software design, software integration and/or DMS, EMS, Oil and Gas, or related experience.

  2. Strong software systems development and integration skills.

  3. Experience with highly complex hardware and software configurations in a real-time environment.

  4. Good understanding of programming and database skills.

  5. Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.

  6. Experience with Unix, and/or Windows.

  7. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to write professional and technical reports and procedures. Ability to make formal and informal presentations to technical and non-technical staff and customers.

  8. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  9. Ability to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals.

  10. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

  11. Ability to work effectively with other management and groups. Fosters a team environment.

  12. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
