General Electric Finance Specialist - Statutory in Ramat Gan, Israel

Job Description Summary

Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Focused on execution of standard enabling activities/provision of advice subject to policy and work routines within an enabling discipline. There may be some latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing situations.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Manage and perform month end close to ensure submission to corporate deadlines where applicable

  • Manage general accounting activities for allocated entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel expenses, banking processes

  • Ensure accounting practices and tax calculations comply with local statutory requirements

  • Ensure monthly balance sheet reclassifications are performed to corporate criteria where applicable

  • Understand key models and month end tasks, proactively seeking to improve and simplify where necessary

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers (internal & external)

  • Ensure all assigned reconciliations are prepared and reviewed accurately and submitted in line with corporate criteria

  • Support with ad-hoc projects and other Management Controllership tasks as necessary

  • Interact and respond to auditor queries, internal and external as necessary

  • Assist in quarterly balance sheet review and prepare variance analysis as necessary

  • Support controllership data requests, and auditing processes

  • Preparation and submission of VAT and tax returns on supported ledgers

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Finance/Accounting certificate

  • Previous experience in accounting, preferably working in an international company

  • Excellent English

  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Team work and good interpersonal skills

  • Strong system skills working with MS Office including Excel, Oracle/SAP

  • Proactive, ability to operate effectively with minimal guidance
