Job Description Summary
As an Advanced Control Systems & Accessories Engineering Intern you will contribute to the development and documentation of control software for the next generation of aviation products. One of your main activities will be to support a Technology Maturation project doing Research & Development activities. You will coordinate with different stake holders to ensure correct execution and on time delivery.
We are looking for motivated individuals seeking a challenging career in developing skills within the Software area focusing on C/C ++ programming, data documentation, and software testing. Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards for Technology Maturation
Execute, with some guidance, R&D activities supporting the simulation model integration into Key Technology
On-site support for test facility activities (e.g. lab equipment set-up)
Collaborate with the Advanced Technologies team and ensure on time delivery on project deliverables
Follow up on established plans for task execution to meet project milestones
Close collaboration with engineering organizations (local and global) towards a clear vision and short/long term priorities alignment
Maintain resource flexibility to adapt to a dynamic environment
Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, and systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Report-out to leadership team in a timely manner to identify roadblocks, necessities, and/or needed resources
Participate as a presenter in technical forums. Demonstrating solid preparation, effective communication and open for feedback.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Student of bachelor’s or master’s Degree in Science, Engineering or equivalent
Excellent programming skills in ANSI C/C++. Python or similar scripting programming experience is a plus
Skills or the ability to document, plan, execute, close, and manage tasks
Excellent presentation skills
Able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English
Familiar with interpretation of software architectures such as UML or P-diagrams
Familiar with embedded systems development kits programming (e.g. raspberry Pi, NI DAQ)
Familiar with development kits I/O interaction via actuators and/or sensors (e.g. push buttons, resistive sensors, LCD Screens, keyboards)
Familiar with software programming development standards (e.g. MISRA-C)
Familiar with software Operating Systems (e.g. Linux, RTOS)
Familiar with CAD Software Programming such as SCADE, Matlab/Simulink
