General Electric Engineer - Performance Engineering in Queretaro, Mexico
Role Summary:On-Wing and Test Cell engine health analytics Engineer.
In charge of performing engine health analytics using thermodynamic tools to provide overhaul and repair shops insights into the repair level to be performed to the engine. The engineer will use state of the art technology and data, using cloud computing and thermodynamic analysis to predict engine health ahead of installation.
Using analytics to reduce cost, time and work done to the engine while assuring top quality and reliability.
Essential Responsibilities:Use & develop models to predict engine health behavior on-wing as a function of the Work scope performed during a shop visit.
Present to reviewers and overhaul shops findings and provide direction towards the work to be carried out.
Understand the interactions & relation of Aircraft engine performance related to on-wing operation, contracts and restrictions.
Use statistics together with models & predictions to take action proactively to trends and shifts in engine performance.
Diagnose faults and indication issues for Overhaul shop testing.
Evaluate the diagnostics methods and propose improvements to the processes and tools.
Qualifications/Requirements:Mechanical o Mechatronics engineer and/or with experience in thermodynamics.
Masters degree graduate for engineering.
Fluent communication in English, both written and spoken
Know-how in Six sigma & statistical process control
Programming know-how & awareness
Internal candidates must be E1 or E2
Desired Characteristics:Strong knowledge in Thermodynamics & fluid mechanics
Experience in aeronautics & aircraft operations
Strong knowledge in statistical analysis and data manipulation/presentation.
Programming skills in Python or R desirable
Green belt certification will be a plus
Use of statistical analysis tools like JMP, Minitab, Excel etc.
