You will be responsible for the vision, leadership and technical growth for Digital Workplace Technology (DWT) DevOps engineers. You will work as the senior point person for the team, contributing to the team’s future direction as part of the DWT team. In addition, you will help mentor and grow all members on the team to reach and exceed their potential. Lastly, you will lead technical architecture discussion and/or drive to completion of projects.
In this role, you will:
Set the vision, best practices, strategy and architecture for applications residing in SaaS, On-Premise & IT infrastructure. This role involves a combination of strategic leadership with tactical execution, hands-on development and management skills.
Manage teams which include application/production operations, DevOps and network operations.
Lead technical evaluation & implementation of new technologies and tools.
Serve as liaison between your team, senior management, vendors, product management and other engineering teams.
Leveraging previous experience, assist development teams in building, hosting, and deploying next generation, resilient, fault-tolerant, and self-healing applications both in the cloud and/or on premise.
Collaborate with development teams to define architecture, optimize performance and manage various development and production environments & processes.
Drive engineering automation, from CI/CD, infrastructure provisioning, monitoring & alerting to developer support.
Identify and monitor system performance & security risks and propose solutions for cloud infrastructure services.
Lead troubleshooting production and development issues, top to bottom, including network, hardware, software, and application.
Lead annual strategic planning, tactical operation planning, the development of service improvement, and contingency operation plans including BCDR.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring and coaching, constantly promoting improvement in the team member’s professional skills and readying them for the occupation of his position in the future.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation and team building.
Lead annual budget planning and forecasting for infrastructure assets and services.
Participate in an on-call rotation that will include development staff. Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) OR in lieu of a degree: a HS diploma/GED and 4+ years of IT experience or equivalent military experience/training
Minimum 12 years of experience in a software engineering leadership / management role.Eligibility Requirements

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Providence, RI. Desired Characteristics: Technical Expertise:
15+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Production Operations or managing complex IT infrastructure.
10+ years of overall Infrastructure Architecture & Engineering in defining and developing high security, high availability solutions
8+ years of experience in a DevOps / SRE leadership role building and managing high performing teams
Minimum of 4+ years of direct experience working with cloud production environments.
Experience with Linux operating systems and administration.
Experience designing, building and managing large scale infrastructure in AWS.
Experience in multiple configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible, Puppet or Terraform.
Experience designing, building and managing Microservice architectures (Docker, DockerSwarm, Kubernetes, etc.).
Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Perl or Bash.
Experience with Relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB)
Experience working with monitoring tools (Nagios, Icinga, Graphite, NewRelic, Zabbix, AppDynamics, etc.) and logging solutions (Splunk, ELK, etc.).
Well-developed analytical skills.
