The Sourcing Lean Manufacturing Leader leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business, and is a recognized expert in a specialized field. Responsible for supplier transformation initiatives using VSM and TPS methodologies and the simplification of business processes, this role works closely with both the Lean Operations Leader, Sourcing Leader and Key suppliers, and contributes to the overall strategy, reducing supplier lead-times.
As the Sourcing Lean Manufacturing Leader, you will:
Support the consistent application of Lean tools and participles to drive continuous improvements
Use VSM (Value Stream Map) to focus and drive improvement at select key suppliers as identified per plant VSMs and agreed upon with Sourcing team
Be the site champion for lean deployment to drive supplier lead-time and cash / cost improvements
Target minimum 50% lead-time and inventory reductions at suppliers
Be responsible for partnering with Lean Operations Leader and Sourcing Leaders to define the key value streams that will have the greatest impact on the business and the customer
Work with the sourcing and lean operations leaders to develop strategic deployment planning / establish tranformational vision / set specific goals and priorities that drive lean principles and concepts across the business, link lean initiatives closely to plant KPIs pursuing operation excellence
Serve as a change agent by influencing, communicating and institutionalizing a culture of simplification and standardization
Coach and train suppliers in the use of Lean tools and the simplification methodology to drive significant business impact
Establish appropriate operating rhythms with key stake holders to communicate progress, provide coaching and plan action workouts
Seek, share and institutionalize best practices
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively to global supplier sites
Understanding of Lean toolset with proven results: experienced lean practitioner (roadmaps, strategy, experience in lean transformations)
Significant experience in operations with strong lean work experience at lean expert level
Lead >25 Lean AWOs of various types of events (VSM, 5S, TPM, Standard Work, etc.)
Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization
Demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results
Strong oral and written communication skills
Facilitator / training experience
