Job Description Summary
The Power Electronics Controller Design Engineer provides consultation and technical direction to the team developing state-of-the art power conversion products. The activities include contributing to the design, development, troubleshooting, and verification of open and closed loop control systems for products and systems for the Aviation power industry. In this role, you will be responsible for performing engineering work and applied research in the development for next generation military aircraft and ground vehicles.
Responsible for developing and troubleshooting digital controller cards for power electronics conversion and other products
Responsible of writing board level test procedures and related documents.
Responsible for working with the team on system measurements sensors design and interfaces
Writing development plans
Writing low level requirements for the controller board
Developing controller board schematics using Altium or Mentor Graphics
Working with PCB designer on the controller board layout
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or from an accredited university or college
A minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering position
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience
Design experience with large power supplies or frequency converters
Extensive experience with DSP and FPGA based board designs
Experience in a safety-critical market, preferably Aerospace industry
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Experience in development to MIL-STDs, DO-160, DO-254, and DO-178B Standards for Avionics
Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and embedded test (such as Vivado Logic Analyzer)
Experience with Xilinx FPGA design tools
DOORS experience is a plus
