Job Description Summary
The GE Aviation Power Conversion and Control business is leading the way in the application of advanced technologies towards the development and delivery of high-performance power conversion products for aerospace, military ground vehicles, and industrial hybrid vehicle applications utilizing advanced technologies such as SiC and GaN.
The Electrical Lead Engineer reports to the Electrical Engineering (EE) Manager. This position is for a component level analog circuit design engineer specializing in power conversion products. In this capacity, you lead assigned analytical, design, and test objectives: life cycle requirements capture, design to cost, schedule commitment and EE designs, analyses, and tests that meet product performance for use in electronic power conversion product development including rapid prototyping and manufacturing. The Lead Electrical Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for the GE Aviation Systems Power Conversion & Control business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self, lead others, and affect business goals.
This role is open for either Pompano Beach, FL or Long Island, NY location.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Execute the design, development, and analysis of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirement
Develop, analyze, and recommend topologies for high power/high density power converters
Provide technical guidance to other team members
Implement and develop plans to meet technical requirements of assigned components and systems
Participate and/or present in program reviews
Provide power conversion products solutions through modeling, simulation, design and analysis circuits and their controls
Create qualified designs that meet military and/or FAA compliance
Mentor engineers and technicians in design and analytical methods
Provide proposals for new and innovative designs
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 3 years of experience in analog power conversion design
Desired Characteristics
Master's Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience
Design experience with high power/high density power conversion utilizing SiC and GaN devices for airborne and military ground vehicle applications
Experience of system modeling using Matlab/Simulink programming
Experience with analog circuit simulation and analysis tools, as well as schematic capture and layout tools
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Effective problem identification and solution skills
