Essential Responsibilities
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will:
Utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals
Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions and related documentation
Design and build / procure necessary fixtures and tooling to manufacture electronic assemblies and products
Support assembly equipment upgrades from purchase through installation
Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to manufacturing processes and / or equipment
Lead New Product Introductions and the transition of product lines between sites (Pompano Beach & Long Island)
Assist Production Supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action
Attend cross-functional quality sessions and track/drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for Cell issues
Support EHS projects in cell
Drive Process Improvement / Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via process changes or improvements
Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment
Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations
Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation
Support the quality function through integration of ISO / QC documentation and manufacturing work instructions
Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness & equipment capability
Lead high impact process and quality improvement projects yielding significant reduction in defects and increased productivity in the Cell
Utilize lean-manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing or Engineering)
Minimum of 3 years in Manufacturing or Engineering

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a strong preference towards Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials from an accredited university or college
Direct experience with electronic manufacturing processes or strong education background with aptitude and desire to learn from experienced personnel
Developing processes for cleanroom manufacturing and/or prior experience working in a cleanroom
Experience with programming and set-up of electronic assembly equipment (e.g. screen printers, SMT assembly machines, reflow ovens, wave solder machine, etc.)
Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes
Experience with fixture designs or improvement
Ability to make data driven decisions and utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools
Knowledge of safety agency regulations
Knowledge of ISO/quality procedures
