General Electric Lead Engineer -Proposal and Project Engineering in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Role Summary:

The Engineering Proposal/Project leader will work closely with the Locomotive Proposals Team, all Locomotive Subsystems, and the Commercial organization to define program development cost, schedule, and business risks required to support the successful services growth initiatives. In addition, the role will include project leadership responsibilities as the liaison with product management.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Global Services Organization Mods/Parts/USM team has been very successful at winning major orders through demonstrated customer value, speed, and team execution. You will work with and be challenged by a highly experienced group of LSE’s, Engineering Project Managers, and Commercial Product Managers. The cross functional mission-based team maintains a fun, but challenging, "go - make - it - happen" environment. Thus, the ability ta lean mission-based team environment by challenging the status quo to provide competitive robust solutions is highly desired.

The role requires close interaction with all engineering disciplines, senior business experts, and commercial experts. Thus, there is a great opportunity to gain detailed knowledge on our legacy products and their subsequent upgrades using the latest locomotive technology.


· Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science

· At least 3 years of systems engineering experience

Desired Characteristics:

· Six Sigma training

· Strong electrical/mechanical/control design and/or analytical background

· Familiarity with manufacturing processes

· Ability to drive projects to completion

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

· Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers

· North America and International legacy locomotive expertise
