Job Description Summary
The Environment, Health and Safety Leader will be responsible for driving business EHS goals, programs, and processes at the GEHC site located in Phoenix, AZ. The EHS Leader will be responsible for day-to-day EHS leadership and support, which includes the development, planning and implementation of Environmental Health and Safety programs & policies. This individual will also function in a team environment with other members of the plant level staff, Technicians and Hourly personnel to ensure EHS compliance.
Roles will typically be aligned to specific businesses or sectors. Individuals will generally either be located at, and only support, a specific site or project (including construction), or have a role that requires specific industry/business expertise or interaction with specific business customers. This category will include those EHS professionals involved in “designing for EHS” (NPI), individuals responsible for customer or industry engagement, and EHS professionals working at customer sites or projects (generally not managing teams of EHS professionals or regions).
Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and maintain EHS programs, procedures and practices to assure compliance with regulatory and GE requirements (OSHA, EPA, DOT, HMT, ANSI and IATA)
Engage and influence leadership commitment to EH&S and coach individuals to successfully execute specified EHS priorities
Able to influence cross functional teams to operationalize and standardize EHS work practices
Manage key EHS performance indicators (KPI) for the site and drive necessary efforts for success
Lead incident investigations and drive closure of effective corrective/preventive actions
Analyze trends and performance, provide routine feedback, and drive actions to improve performance
Assure good standing and action plans with GE’s Environmental Health & Safety Framework
Interface with environmental, health and safety regulatory agencies, as needed
Execute required actions to maintain OSHA VPP
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Supply Chain, Business, Technical or closely related degree
Minimum of 3 years of experience in successful EHS program implementation
Demonstrated ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment
Strong knowledge of US EHS related regulatory requirements
Excellent leadership, program and project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate using English (or local language)
Solid understanding of healthcare industry and safety standards

Self-starter with high energy
Advanced computer skills (knowledge in Gensuite a plus)
OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) experience and/or Special Government Employee (SGE) certification
Experience with GE EHS management systems
