General Electric Maintenance Supervisor in Parsippany, New Jersey
Job Description Summary
As a Maintenance Supervisor at GE Power you will lead a team of individuals maintaining precision cooling hole manufacturing equipment for the power generation industry to enable engines to run more efficiently.
Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise, schedule, train and motivate employees.
Coordinate maintenance activities including work assignments, scheduling, and training.
Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of equipment and facilities.
Coordinate work performed by contractors and outside vendors.
Assist with determining root cause and corrective action for breakdowns.
Work with cross-functional peers in manufacturing, engineering, planning, quality, etc. to resolve issues.
Ensure efficient repair schedules.
Control and monitor spare parts inventory.
Maintain maintenance and equipment records using the CMMS system.
Maintain equipment calibration records.
Drive improvement in the department through the implementation of best practices.
Drive maintenance and business critical metrics including safety, quality, and productivity.
Develop and support the growth of employees.
Maintain a performance-oriented work environment encompassing timely performance appraisals, feedback, and disciplinary action when warranted.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in a maintenance leadership position).
Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Able to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
Experience with CMMS systems.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
Desire to work in a challenging and dynamic manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational skills and high attentional to detail.
Demonstrated integrity - accept and adhere to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others.
