Job Description Summary
To ensure the successful implementation of his/her project to the satisfaction of the contract requirement, in terms of: Quality of Products and services, safety and environmental compliance, being on schedule, client Satisfaction and Managing Customer expectation and achieving the Project Profit Margin and Free Cash Flow or Better.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Fulfil the Project Order to Specification, Budget and time
Ensuring Customer Satisfaction
Achieving Project Objectives for Profitability, Sales Turnover and Project Free Cash Flow
Prepare Project Acceptance and Project Review Documents in line with Business and Unit Policies
Clear Management of the project scope, program, cost to complete (CTC), including Project Risk & Opportunities (R&O)
Build and Maintain close contact with the Client’s Project representative to ensure Project Relationship is conducive to achieving project variations, and allows any significant dissatisfaction issues to be remedied promptly and professionally
Manage and motivate the people in the Project Team in order to deliver the necessary competencies and performance.
Authorise and instruct the appropriate Project Team Member to implement disposition of NCR’s (non-conformance reports) as required.
Allocate Tasks or subprojects to project design team in conjunction with the Engineering Manager.
Approve and authorise the issue of Project technical documents and drawings and convene design review meetings and nominate appropriate personnel to attend.
Lead by example to ensure safe Project working environments and practices for all Project stakeholders.
Actively contribute to the ongoing communication of safe working to all Project team members and subcontractors
Implement Processes to provide strong management of against Project budget, with remedies.
Authorise placement of Project Purchase Orders
Maintain contact with key Project supplier (internal and external) to ensure necessary quality and prompt and reliable delivery.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Project team experience > 10 years (e.g. Design or Project Engineer or Site Management)
Project team leadership experience > 5 years (e.g. Project Manager or Project Engineer or Site Manager)
Turnkey Design and Construct (EPC) of substations of 132kV or above voltages
Engineered Equipment Packages (EEP)
Equipment Design and Supply only
Having exposure to both AIS and GIS Substations
Knowledge of Client and their general expectations
Knowledge of Project Management Handbook (PMH) guidelines, policies, systems and functions
Financial Knowledge appropriate to Project Financial Reporting
Contract Management, Contracting and commercial negotiation experience.
Health, Safety & Environmental requirements for design and construction activities on the Project.
Good knowledge of or prior experience of having worked in the electricity transmission or distribution industry
Good understanding of relevant Australian Standards
