General Electric Lead Engineering Manager - TMS in Padappai, India

Job Description Summary

Responsible for execution of Transformer Monitoring System (TMS) projects. Delivering high quality outcomes to internal and/or external customers. Partnering with Tendering teams and TMS Lisburn COE to define requirements. Working with internationally distributed teams, to ensure delivery on time, within scope and budget and of desired quality. Implements robust project management practices.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Business Unit, Functional and TMS COE teams to review tenders and provide technical input

  • Be the domain expert on Sub-station automation with exposure on high voltage transformers

  • Define execution plan and approach based on program scope, expected timeline and available budget/resources

  • Lead technical teams comprising of members of GE Internal organizations to coordinate day-to-day execution as per outlined plan

  • Responsible for Detailed Design of TMS based on inputs received from Tendering Team in Lisburn and M&D Regional Operating Units

  • Proficient in Industrial Communication mandatory for Detailed Design

  • Cooperate with and manage external vendors as required

  • Support execution teams with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies

  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting

  • Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, Product Manager and TMS Lisburn COE team

  • Ability to travel to client sites (on need basis) and proficient in conducting virtual meetings

  • Proficient in the provision and update electrical schematics

Required Qualifications

  • Good understanding of electrical power system engineering for Utility customers

  • Bachelor's Degree or Industry Recognised equivalent

  • Minimum 10 Years of Hands-on experience with couple of years of People Leadership responsibility

  • Experience in online transformer monitoring solution delivery

  • High degree of Industrial Communications Protocols competency (Wired or Wireless) including Network Topology

  • Industrial Software for Sub-station Automation like DS Agile
