Job Description Summary

The Design/ Product Engineer demonstrates high level of technical skills needed to Design, Develop, Analysis and Validate digital products for online condition monitoring for high voltage applications. The design engineer shall deliver the design as per Specifications, Cost, Quality standards & within planned timeline.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Design, Analysis & Validation of digital monitoring and analysis solutions.

• Value engineering of existing designs using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product / program requirements.

• Study of Project specifications & assessment of complexity and risks. Mitigation of Risk by Design, Calculations and simulations based on GE’s design guidelines and software tools.

• Documentation of technical data, consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

• Responsible for reviewing design drawings/documents, ensuring error free and timely design delivery.

• Responsible for development of parts of the digital components / products designed aligning with cross functional teams and suppliers

• Responsible for checking the design and prepare for design reviews with project teams/ management.

• Responsible for reviewing the prototype and validate it with internal/external test facilities.

• Responsible for review & release of drawings/documentation for manufacturing and testing.

• Interact with Global HVS & Digital competence centers on technical matters in project & product.

• Documentation of design records with appropriate details

Qualifications/Requirements

• Master’s / bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Instrumentation (E&I) or Instrumentation & Control engineering (I&CE) or Power Electronics (PE&D) or Mechatronics Engineering.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in digital systems or monitoring system development.

• Performed system diagnostics, including problem isolation and Network interfaces.

• Performed emergency troubleshooting on all digital systems machines to minimize production downtime.

• Provided digital systems tailored to the requirements of customers.

• Provide solutions and complete Modification Packages for a wide range of I&C and Digital systems and components.

• Executed Hardware plan including signal integrity, FPGA functional testing, Software integration, and power supply interfacing

• Produced firmware, embedded software and DSP solutions.

• Implemented DSP and digital communications components using VHDL.

• Developed unique framework that allows collaborative modules to be developed.

• Designed, constructed, and implemented calibration automation software for test equipment using software.

• Experience on Microsoft office and tools.

• Good oral/written communication skills in English.

• Good interpersonal skills, ability to engage and communicate effectively with cross functional and global teams.

• Able to travel to domestic/ international locations for around 10-20% of work duration
