Job Description Summary
Hydro Service function is at the crossroad of technical expertise, site works including EHS, project management, with commercial awareness.
The Hydro Service Manager will lead as a Project Manager the service activities for hydropower plants. He/she is the primary liaison / point of contact between GE Hydro/Service Leadership, GE Hydro/Engineering, supply chain, the site team, sale team and customers. Scope includes ensuring the completeness of the deliverable solutions of GE Hydro services.

Essential Responsibilities
As a Hydro Service Manager, you will:
Obtain information on hydro power plant assets & setup for the designated areas such as hydro turbine & generator technologies, existing DCS, governing, excitation and other mechanical & electrical Balance of Plant systems including customer purchasing plans and Maintenance budget. Have a clear understanding of power plant outage schedule.
Actively visit customer’s plants (> 02 plants par month/per customer at least), participate in customer meetings and connect customer needs with our products’ available options and solutions
Deliver timely / accurate responses to customer technical inquiries including proposal and execution (for transactional opportunities) leveraging GE Hydro Sales and Commercial Operations, Engineering (Fleet reliability Operations, Installed Base Center of Excellence)
Give customers and field teams technical support for general services and specific upgrades
Project Execution: Lead the execution (incl. site activities and project reviews with customers) with respect to EHS, time, quality, cost commitment and drive variation orders in cooperation with engineering, supply chain and site teams. Run the project financials (sales milestones and cash, risk & opportunities)
Ensure the accuracy of the Customer Relationship Management tool (Salesforce)
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university or college or similar
Hydropower Electro-mechanical field services i.e. maintenance, installation and commissioning or manufacturing experience
Commercial awareness, Strong knowledge and relationship with local customers at plant level
Ability, availability, and willingness to travel
Norwegian/Swedish and English fluency are mandatory

Strong analytical skills with the ability to do Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to understand and resolve problems
Controls software knowledge
Ability to interpret site reports, test results, assessments, diagnoses
Strong knowledge of / experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Technical drawings and wiring schematics interpretation
Experience with Power Generation, Renewable Energy and Hydro
Comfortable providing technical presentations to peers, customers and leadership regarding the details of technical issues and project status
Strong, self-directed, collaborative team player with interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
