Job Description Summary

The role will have governance for 3 sites in Norway. The position develops and executes organization-level HR strategies to align structure, culture and talent with business goals. The position will report into the Global HR Integrated Supply Chain Leader and will be a member of the EMEA HR leadership team.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership, direction and expertise for the full scope of HR functions including salaried and non-salaried employee relations, total rewards, employee engagement and organizational design/change and recruiting and selection

  • Leading and leveraging GE HR processes within the business (Performance Management, Salary Planning/Reward Management, Succession Planning and Talent Management), cross-functional communication and the transfer of learning and best practice sharing within the HR network

  • Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise within the discipline.

  • Active member of the site leadership team

  • Partnering with client leadership to plan and execute strategies that ensure maximum engagement of human resource capital while actively managing headcount targets and assisting in budget management

  • Implementing strategies and driving HR initiatives that contribute to the development of HR strategies and facilitate the implementation of the business “people agenda”

  • Ensuring a dynamic pipeline of talent through rigorous performance management, e.g., leadership assessments, coaching and development of employees, candid and timely performance feedback

  • Recruiting, mentoring, coaching & training direct and indirect reports on activities within areas of responsibility

  • Managing direct reports in supporting the implementation of HR strategies and management of HR processes within the business

  • Proactively managing HR systems in order to maintain integrity of employee and organizational data

  • Use high level of judgement to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact the function

  • Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.

  • Previous experience of working in an industrial relations environment

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a related discipline in which business knowledge and an understanding of human resource practices are gained

  • Demonstrated experience of HR generalist responsibility (i.e. handling employee relations, total rewards, recruiting and performance management) and leadership experience with clear career progression

  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, evaluate people, manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment and effectively interface with high-level business and operations leaders

  • Outstanding communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Process and detail oriented, including strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Sound knowledge of local labor laws and government requirements

  • Able to energize and inspire others to commit to and take action on business priorities

  • An impact player with proven ability to drive change in an effective and participative manner

  • Experience driving business solutions through influence and collaboration in a global, matrix organization

Desirable skills

  • Advanced degree in Business, HR management or Industrial Relations (such as MBA, etc.

  • Knowledge of Workday would be an advantage
