Job Description Summary

The Field Service Technician will provide electrical and/or mechanical technician support to the Prairie Breeze Wind Farm in Elgin, NE. In this role you will carry out Operations & Maintenance, modifications and material control functions.

Essential Responsibilities:

As a Field Service Technician at Prairie Breeze, you will:

  • Carry out O&M work on GE supplied equipment

  • Supervise and co-ordinate labor, resources and material for O&M of GE-supplied equipment

  • Inspections on GE supplied equipment during the Services

  • Carry out O&M planned

  • Attend customer sites to carry out planned maintenance, and assist Field Engineers with breakdowns

  • Turbine wiring modifications and remedial work, upgrade installation on GE supplied equipment

  • Assist GE Fieldengineers/technicians

  • Assist with EHS Coordination on the site

  • Report to a leadership team who will respect you.


  • Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology or related discipline (OR a High School Diploma and experience working with electrical circuits)


  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Electrically qualified.

  • Background in mechanical and hydraulic area

  • Background in a customer facing Service Delivery or Project Management position, within a Service environment.

  • Ability to establish and maintain long-term relationships with clients worldwide. Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Ability to make decisions with regards to completion of tasks and job methods and follow through with results of outcome.

  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to interact and communicate with internal customers (Internal customers may include

  • Production, Engineers, and Management personnel). Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals.

  • Ability to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Ability to multitask on a consistent basis.

  • Ability to conceptualize and implement performance objectives that meet established requirements.

  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity.

  • Ability to make recommendations regarding job methods and departmental

  • You must be teachable and possess a desire to learn. Ultimately, you’re responsible for your own development here. Guidance will be provided, but you must own it. You don’t need to be the smartest person in the room. But you better be ashamed if you’re unwilling to try.

This team will not tolerate someone who disrupts the group dynamic.

  • The people here haven’t needed a babysitter since the age of ten.

  • Doesn’t keep score. You must be willing to put the team first and themselves second once in a while. Some days you might have to work longer than your peers.

  • Realizes life isn’t fair; neither is work. Everyone can’t be treated the exact same way every single time. If you have kids of your own, you already know this. Some days one kid might get more dessert.
