General Electric Embedded Computing Specialist in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
The Embedded Computing Specialist will work with the Front End Innovation team at the Energy Innovation Center (EIC) in Oklahoma City to drive the development of new digital solutions to solve customer challenges in the energy industry. The Embedded Computing Specialist will support the design of edge systems to meet application requirements, work hands-on with these devices to build field-ready prototypes and use field pilots to rapidly iterate and help bring solutions to market.
In the role of Embedded Computing Specialist, you will:
Work with an interdisciplinary team to design, develop and refine disruptive edge computing solutions for the energy industry
Integrate off-the-shelf sensors with single board computing platforms to rapidly build and deploy prototypes on manned and unmanned vehicle systems
Interface edge systems with existing sensors and/or field equipment and create network interface(s) for data interaction
Leverage deep learning frameworks to create computer vision models and deploy on GPU edge devices for real-time inferencing and interaction
Develop code to collect, process and analyze high-volume, real-time data streams from sources such as LiDAR and RGB cameras
Ruggedize prototype single board computing systems using industrial equipment such as programmable logic controllers
Stay current with industry trends and identify technical innovations that can be leveraged to advance projects
Be responsible for other duties and projects as assigned Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of applied embedded systems experience Desired Characteristics:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university
Experience with industrial and research work
Strong knowledge of Python, C, C++, and CUDA
Expertise with Nvidia GPU architecture and experience working with Nvidia Jetson TX1 and TX2 devices
Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus/TCP, CANOpen, HART, etc.
Experience building autonomous robots and using robot operating systems (ROS)
Hands-on experience with unmanned aerial vehicles including commercially-available drones. FAA Remote Pilot Certificate considered a plus
Experience with conversion and processing of analog and digital signals
Strong knowledge of computer networking and practical cloud deployment experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Experience using a variety of operating systems including Windows, Linux, and embedded system operating systems such as QNX, LynxOS, Windows CE, etc.
Proven organizational skills and detail oriented
Experience working both independently and as part of a team within a cross-functional environment
